Recycling and Waste Reduction Program
Grants for Communities and Solid Waste Authorities

Recycling SymbolThe Recycling and Waste Reduction (RWR) program is a competitive grant opportunity to assist Georgia’s local governments with their efforts to reduce solid waste through recycling, waste minimization, composting and other innovative programs. GEFA administers the RWR program with funding from the Georgia Solid Waste Trust Fund, which is financed by a $1 fee on replacement tires purchased in the State. The goal of the RWR grants is to provide much needed financial assistance to local governments and foster an integrated approach to waste reduction across Georgia.

Eligible activities for funding include support for new recycling programs or the expansion of existing recycling activities.

GEFA is not accepting applications for the RWR grant program at this time. Please check this site in the future for updates on this program.

The RWR History and Results page contains more information on past projects and program metrics.
