The Bioenergy Corridor:
Georgia is a leader in renewable energy and home to The Bioenergy Corridor, a region encompassing research and development, academia, public and private partnerships and manufacturing facilities for ethanol and biodiesel. With abundant resources and a strong commitment to the bioenergy initiative, Georgia will become a “one-stop shop” for bioenergy investors at a time when alternative and renewable energy sources are crucial to the nation’s energy future. NEW! Georgia E-85 Retail Infrastructure Grant Program:
In May 2007, the State of Georgia created a grant program to finance equipment used to store and dispense E-85 gasoline for retail sale. The legislation directs the Division of Energy Resources to develop, implement and administer the program.

Alternative Fuels Development:
The Division of Energy Resources and the Fuel Storage Tank Program of GEFA work closely to attract businesses interested in producing or selling alternative transportation fuels in Georgia. Utilizing a broad network of biomass and energy industry representatives, as well as state and local government leaders, GEFA can provide prospective businesses with valuable information and useful contacts to help them get started. Transportation Demand Management:
The Division of Energy Resources provides administrative support for the Clean Air Campaign, a nonprofit organization that works collaboratively with government and private sector organizations. The mission of The Clean Air Campaign is to motivate Georgians to take action to improve air quality and reduce traffic congestion. By motivating individuals to change their commuting habits and live a clean air lifestyle, partnering with employers to promote clean commuting in the workplace, and working with schools to empower children to get involved in cleaning the air, the Clean Air Campaign has achieved measurable results.
